Hardware Design

Digital Design

Quasar Systems has extensive experience in digital and analog circuit design. This includes complex multi-layer PCBs.

Whether it is circuitry for a product that incorporates a complex microprocessor and memory system or a signal processing system that combines high speed DSPs and custom FPGAs Quasar Systems can provide a full turnkey development solution.

Quasar has developed high speed circuits for Military, Aerospace, and telecommunications systems where signal integrity is essential. We have also developed high speed data acquisition systems where digital system noise had to be carefully isolated from the analog and RF signals being measured. In each of these designs Quasar’s development process and experience led to production designs.

PCB1
  • High speed Backplane design
  • DDR2 and DDR3 memory interfaces
  • Digital system architecture design
  • Mixed signal digital, RF, and analog design
  • Data acquisition D/A or A/D
  • Signal integrity analysis
  • Microprocessor of many types
  • Digital Signal Processing
  • Full system or subsystem design
  • FFT filters
  • FIR filters
  • Other complex filters

Analog Design

Quasar has experience designing a variety of products that incorporate complex analog circuits. Analog circuit design requires a highly disciplined development approach to control all of the variables. The process begins with the development of a comprehensive requirements document.

Great detail is paid to signal integrity with pre design simulation. Layout of signals on PCB is also very critical to successful designs that reduce the signal to noise issues as well other types of signal interference. The following types of design have been done successfully by Quasar:

  • Phase lock loops (PLLs)
  • Driver amplifiers
  • Power supplies
  • Sensitive low noise circuits
  • Data acquisition systems
  • Sensor interfaces
  • Optical interfaces
  • High-voltage circuits
